MoneyMama Terms & Conditions

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are between you and MoneyMama (“MoneyMama”, “we”, “us” and “our”). We are a company registered in Malaysia. Our registered company number is (1623877-K), and our registered office is C-3-1, Strand Garden Office, 12, Jalan PJU 5/1, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. These Terms govern your use of the website available at moneymama.co (“Site”), and certain products or services offered by MoneyMama as detailed below (collectively, the “Services”). As used in these Terms, the term “Site” or “Sites” includes all websites, technology platforms, and/or mobile applications (“Applications”) we operate that link to these Terms, pages within each website or Application, any equivalent, mirror, replacement, substitute, or backup website, device, or Application, and pages that are associated with each such website, device or Application.

Your use of the Services is subject to these Terms. By accessing or using the Site or any Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. You should print a copy of these Terms for future reference. Use of your personal information submitted to us as part of the provision of the Services is governed by our Privacy and Cookies Policy, which are incorporated as part of these Terms by reference.

As part of the Services, we may through the Platform offer you access to products and services offered by us or others. These products and services may be subject to other agreements or authorizations. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and other agreements or authorizations concerning products or services offered through the Platform, such other agreements or authorizations shall prevail.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

REGISTERING FOR THE SERVICES

• 1.1 Registration

  To use the MoneyMama app you create an account by signing in with Google, with Apple, with an email address, or, if you already chat with Mama on WhatsApp, with your WhatsApp number. When you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider shares your name and email address with us so we can create the account. You only need to register once. We may decline or close an account that is used in breach of these Terms.

• 1.2 Eligibility

  To use MoneyMama's Services and register for an account, users must be at least 18 years old and not legally restricted from accessing any of our offerings. The MoneyMama app is currently available to people in Malaysia and Singapore; until 30 September 2026 the assistant also remains available on WhatsApp wherever you are. Some services on the site may have additional eligibility requirements — and it's your responsibility to make sure those are met before signing up. By registering, you're confirming that you meet all the necessary criteria.

• 1.3 Accuracy of Information

  You agree to provide us with accurate, complete, and up-to-date contact information, which may include email address and mobile telephone number. You are responsible for the information you provide to us and keeping such information up to date. You must promptly update your MoneyMama account in the event of any changes to information you have provided.

• 1.4 Verification of Information

  You authorize MoneyMama, directly or through third parties, to make any inquiries we consider necessary to verify your identity and information you provide. This may include (i) screening you against third-party databases or other sources, (ii) requesting reports from service providers, (iii) asking you to provide a form of government identification (e.g., driver's license or identification card or passport) to check your name, place and date of birth, your address.

Your Use of the Services

You may only use the Sites and the Services for your own personal, non-commercial use, and not on behalf of, or for, any third party. Any use of the Sites or the Services in violation of law is strictly prohibited. Some services may not be available in Malaysia or Singapore and we reserve the right to limit the availability of the Sites and the Services at any time.

Changes to the Services and Terms

MoneyMama reserves the right to amend the Services or these Terms at any time and will notify you of such changes by posting the revised Terms on the Site. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will provide you notice of such changes before they become effective. You should check these Terms on the Site periodically for changes. All changes shall be effective upon posting. We will date the Terms with the last day of revision. Your continued use of the Services after any change to these Terms constitutes your agreement to be bound by any such changes. MoneyMama may terminate, suspend, change or restrict access to all or any part of the Services without notice or liability.

Security

You must take all reasonable precautions to keep your MoneyMama account username and personalized security credentials confidential and secure at all times, and use it only to access and use your MoneyMama account and not for any other purpose. You must contact us immediately if you discover or suspect any unauthorized use of your MoneyMama account, or error in the operation of your username and/or personalized security credentials. If you discover or suspect any unauthorized use of a payment or financial account linked to your MoneyMama account, you should immediately notify the provider of that account. We may, from time to time, with or without prior notice, temporarily suspend the operation or access to any aspect of the Services if we believe there has been unauthorized access to your MoneyMama account or we suspect it is being used for illicit or improper purposes.

Overview of the Services

MoneyMama offers a variety of services and features ("Services"). These Services include the following free services:

• The MoneyMama app: a personal finance assistant you chat with to record expenses and income, set budgets, get bill reminders, check a phone number, bank account or company against public scam lists, split bills, and import statements
• The calculators on the Site: retirement, first million, and the debt-free estimator
• Until 30 September 2026, the personal finance assistant on WhatsApp

In addition, the following services are available with a price, offered by MoneyMama or our partners:

• Financial Products
• Credit Coaching
• The GOOD Plan, our Debt Repayment Planner (credit card debt analysis, a written payoff plan, and a call with a licensed financial planner from a partner firm)
• Insurance

The Services and products from Third Party Providers are described more fully on the Site and in relevant sections below.

MoneyMama Is an AI Assistant

The replies you receive from MoneyMama in the app (and on WhatsApp until 30 September 2026) are generated automatically by an artificial-intelligence model and are not written by a person. They are general financial education, not financial, legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, and they can be wrong or incomplete. Decisions about your money remain yours: check anything significant with a licensed professional before acting on it. You can report any reply from inside the app.

For the GOOD Plan we partner with licensed financial planners. The planner you speak to is licensed in their own right and any advice given on that call is theirs, under their own licence. The app's own analysis and written plan remain educational output, as described in the next section.

Debt Repayment Planner and Credit Tools

Our Debt Repayment Planner and related credit tools (the “Debt Tools”) are a paid, educational service that helps you understand and plan the repayment of your credit card and other consumer debts. When you use the Debt Tools, you may be asked to upload financial documents such as your credit card and bank statements. We analyse the information you provide and generate personalised insights, suggested repayment or payoff plans, and educational guidance to help you work towards reducing your debt. The Debt Tools are provided for general informational and educational purposes only, based solely on the information you give us.

Important Notice — Educational Tool, Not Financial or Debt-Management Advice

MoneyMama is a financial education and software provider. We are not a licensed financial adviser, debt counsellor, credit counselling agency, or debt management or debt settlement provider, and the Debt Tools do not constitute financial, legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.

• We do not manage your debts for you. We do not contact, negotiate, or deal with your banks, creditors, or any other lenders on your behalf, and we do not make any payments to your creditors. You remain solely responsible for managing your accounts, communicating with your creditors, and making all of your own financial decisions.
• The insights and repayment plans generated by the Debt Tools are general in nature, are based only on the information you provide, and may not take into account your full financial circumstances. They are not a recommendation to enter into, or refrain from, any particular financial product or course of action.
• You should obtain independent professional advice before acting on any output from the Debt Tools. Free credit counselling and debt management assistance is available in Malaysia from the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit, “AKPK”), an agency established by Bank Negara Malaysia.
• No guaranteed outcome. We do not promise or guarantee that you will reduce or clear your debt, achieve any particular saving, lower your interest or profit charges, or improve your credit standing. Any results depend on your own actions and circumstances.

Your Responsibilities When Using the Debt Tools

• You confirm that any financial documents or information you upload relate to you, that you are entitled to provide them to us, and that the information is accurate, complete, and up to date. The quality of the insights you receive depends on the accuracy of what you provide.
• You must not upload documents or personal data belonging to any other person unless you have their authorisation to do so.
• You may redact or remove information that is not needed for the analysis (for example, full card numbers) before uploading.
• The Debt Tools are for your own personal, non-commercial use and are intended for your personal debts. They are not a record-keeping or document-storage service, and you should keep your own copies of any documents you upload.

Fees, Payment, Cancellation, and Refunds

• The Debt Tools are provided for a fee, which will be disclosed to you in advance before you make payment. Fees are payable in the app or through the payment methods made available on the Site, and are charged in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) unless stated otherwise.
• Because the Debt Tools deliver digital content and personalised analysis, your right to a refund is limited once the service has been delivered. You may request a refund within seven (7) days of payment provided that we have not yet generated or made available your personalised analysis or repayment plan. Once your personalised analysis or plan has been generated or made available to you, the fee is non-refundable, except where a refund is required under applicable law.
• You may stop using the Debt Tools at any time. We may, at our discretion, offer a refund or credit in cases of genuine service failure or duplicate payment. To request a refund or cancellation, contact us at [email protected].

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoneyMama and its directors, employees, and partners will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Debt Tools or any insights or plans they generate, including any financial decision you make, any debt you incur or fail to reduce, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. The Debt Tools and all related content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Debt Tools will not exceed the total fees you paid to us for the Debt Tools in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold MoneyMama harmless against any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from your breach of these Terms, your provision of inaccurate information, or your uploading of any third party's documents or data without authorisation.

WhatsApp Communication Consent

MoneyMama replies on WhatsApp until 30 September 2026. After that date the assistant is available only in the MoneyMama app, and the consent in this section applies only to any sign-in codes or service notices we still need to send you on WhatsApp.

Messaging Consent
By accepting these terms and conditions, you explicitly consent to receive:

• Expense tracking notifications and reminders through WhatsApp
• Financial insights and personalized recommendations
• Account updates and notifications
• Service-related communications
• Pre-approved message templates compliant with Meta's policies

Meta Policy Compliance
We strictly adhere to Meta's WhatsApp Business Solution policies and guidelines. Our messaging practices include:

• Using only pre-approved message templates that comply with Meta's guidelines
• Sending messages only during appropriate hours and frequencies
• Providing clear opt-out options in compliance with Meta's policies
• Protecting your privacy and data in accordance with Meta's requirements

Your Rights
You maintain the following rights regarding WhatsApp communications:

• Right to opt-out of WhatsApp communications at any time
• Ability to manage message preferences through your account settings
• Access to customer support for any messaging-related concerns

App Notifications

In the MoneyMama mobile app you may allow push notifications. If you do, we send bill reminders, a daily spending summary, a heads-up when a budget is close to its limit, and service updates. You can switch these off at any time in your phone's notification settings or inside the app, and the rest of the app keeps working without them.

App Stores

The MoneyMama app is distributed through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms, have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and are not responsible for any claim relating to it. Your use of the app is also subject to the relevant store's own terms.

2. Additional Fees
For the avoidance of doubt, MoneyMama may charge additional fees for certain products or services. Any such additional fees or charges will be disclosed to you in advance of using any such product or service.

Third-party Account Information

The information you share with us — like details entered into our tools or calculators — helps us personalise your experience and improve the services we offer. We may also use it to suggest tools or content that could be useful to you. We don't access third-party financial accounts or request your banking login credentials.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Website, Services, or any content provided through MoneyMama for any purpose that is unlawful, prohibited by these Terms, or which could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the proper functioning of the Website or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of the Services. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you shall not:

• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights (including but not limited to intellectual property, data protection, and privacy laws);
• Infringe upon or misappropriate any copyright, trademark, or proprietary rights of MoneyMama or others;
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, servers, systems, or user accounts;
• Use the Website to transmit any viruses, malware, worms, or harmful code of any kind;
• Interfere with the operation of the Website, including through denial-of-service attacks, script injection, or manipulation of its functionality;
• Scrape, crawl, index, or otherwise collect data from the Website using automated tools without prior written consent;
• Create or publish links to the Website that misrepresent your relationship with MoneyMama or suggest false affiliation or endorsement;
• Frame, mirror, or replicate the Website or any part thereof without our prior written consent;
• Engage in harassment, threats, or abusive conduct towards our team or any other users;
• Use the Services in a manner that could damage the reputation of MoneyMama or cause harm to the Website, its systems, or its users.

Effect of Breach

If you have breached these Terms, we may take such action as we deem appropriate. Such a breach by you may result in our taking, with or without notice, all or any of the following actions:

• Terminating this Agreement and/or closing or suspending your MoneyMama account;
• Issuing of a warning to you;
• Immediate suspension or permanent withdrawal of your right to use any Service;
• Taking legal action against you;
• Updating inaccurate information you provided us;
• Refusing to provide services to you in the future;
• Disclosing all relevant information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably believe is necessary; and/or
• Any other action we deem appropriate in accordance with applicable laws.

You are responsible for any liability incurred by MoneyMama or any third party caused by or arising out of your breach of these Terms.

Suspension and Termination

• 1. MoneyMama's Suspension and Termination Rights
  MoneyMama may terminate these Terms at any time without notice, or suspend or terminate your access and use of the Applications, Site, or the Services at any time, with or without cause, at MoneyMama's absolute discretion and without notice.
• 2. Effect of Termination
  • All rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease, except for those surviving termination as set forth in these Terms;
  • MoneyMama will delete any personally identifiable information upon request;
  • We will keep any data and information that is required of us by law;
  • You must promptly discontinue all use of the relevant Service(s).
• 3. Your Termination Rights
  You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, at any time, from Settings inside the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent; moneymama.co/delete-account sets out exactly what is removed. If you would rather we do it, or you no longer have the app, email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.” We will process your request in accordance with our privacy policy and applicable data protection laws, including Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
  Please note that certain data may be retained for compliance or legal purposes as required by law.

Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights in and to any content made available through MoneyMama's Services — including but not limited to text, data, graphics, software, photos, videos, sound, trademarks, service marks, layouts, designs, icons, logos, and any other materials or content (“Content”) — are owned by MoneyMama or its respective licensors.

Except as expressly permitted under these Terms, nothing herein shall be construed as granting any license or right to use any part of the Content. You acknowledge that by accessing or downloading any portion of the Content, you do not obtain any ownership or intellectual property rights.

If you print, copy, download, or share any pages from the Website in accordance with these Terms, you must not remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices appearing within the original Content.

The Content is protected under Malaysian copyright and intellectual property laws. You shall not, without prior written consent from MoneyMama:

• Reproduce, imitate, distribute, modify, or republish any Content;
• Use the Content in any way that may misrepresent or mischaracterise MoneyMama;
• Display any Content in a manner that implies affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement by MoneyMama unless expressly authorised.

MoneyMama reserves all rights, title, and interest in and to the Content.
